My Ultimate Poshmark Hack

In the wonderful world of Posh, imagine sharing an item, and suddenly, someone looking for exactly that stumbles upon it in their feed (and it fits perfectly!) Voila! You’ve made a sale!

We all know the chances of this fairy-tale scenario are slim to none. Yet, as an active Poshmark member, I’ve noticed two types of Poshers – those who buy and those who sell. Some do both, but many buyers from my closet aren’t active sellers.

So, technically, everyone on Poshmark is a potential buyer, but what if you could specifically target buyers based on brand, size, and style? Gone are the days of just sharing and waiting; it’s time to actively seek potential buyers!

I devised this incredible strategy to showcase my closet to people I believe would adore what I’m selling. It’s been a game-changer and easily one of my top Poshmark selling tips!

What do you want to sell?

To kick things off, select that one special item you’re eager to sell. Picture this: you’ve got a fantastic Madewell shirt ready to find a new home. Now, let’s track down Poshers who adore other Madewell listings or have a history of snagging Madewell treasures on Poshmark. Granted, there’s no handy list to guide you, so get ready for a bit of detective work, but hey, it’s worth it!

First stop: head to the shopping tab on your app and choose the brand you’re targeting. It’ll unveil a feed of all the items listed under that brand, neatly sorted by the latest shares. Peek into what others are selling, their price tags, and who’s eyeing those goodies.

Once the feed pops up, hit the funnel icon on the top right to dive into the filters. Then, navigate to the category menu, honing in on your search by selecting a subcategory. Taking our Madewell top example, opt for Tops as your category and zero in on Button-Down Shirts as your subcategory.

All good so far? Fantastic! But hold on, don’t halt your filter frenzy – we’re about to get even more laser-focused.

    Finding your potential buyer

Poshmark boasts millions of users, so let’s pinpoint those not just interested in your item’s style but who perfectly match its vibe. It’s time to  get a tad more specific.

Your Madewell shirt, a chic blue and white plaid button-down in size six, deserves the spotlight. Utilize the filter to streamline the feed by color and size.

You’ve now curated a super focused feed with items matching your style, color, and size. Dive into these listings, scrutinize the comments and likes at the bottom. These individuals are your potential buyers.

These Poshers appreciate the brand, love similar items, and share your size. Now, all that’s left is to grab their attention.

    Hey, over here!

Now that you’ve pinpointed your potential buyers, let’s spread some Posher love! Dive into these stylish closets and share their fantastic listings. Don’t forget to sprinkle a kind comment to make a lasting impression. This little touch will catch their eye and might lead them to explore your amazing closet.

Showcase the item you’re selling right at the top of your closet feed. When these fabulous Poshers visit, you want your star piece to shine and grab their attention instantly.

Take a peek at sold listings to elevate your own. Could your images use a boost? Is your price on point? Does your description tell the whole story? Craft a listing that captivates potential buyers.

Explore the hidden gem at the end of the filters bar – the availability tab. There, you can sort listings to discover what has successfully sold.

Often, you’ll find correspondence between sellers and buyers in sold listings, making it easy to identify the Posher who loved the item. These Poshers are fans of the brand and potential buyers. They might not be ready to buy now, but why not introduce them to your closet?

    Wishing you a posh-tastic journey!

    Cheers, Laura
